hi Chetanaites,
This is hema , recently got offer from TCS.
I did believe in simple but great saying "Every dog has its day". so
waited for my day and it took 6 months (hope lucky) to get that day.
I am an MCA graduate 2005 passout. with all the enthusiasm for job
search stepped in b'lore on june 1st. b4 this while i was doing final
sem project i attended Verizon off-campus in chennai..... many of u will
have experienced or atleast read about it. stood in hot may summer for 8
hrs where many of my friends dropped in the middle and went bac.i and my
another friend took exam at last. result that we were not shortlisted
came after 3 months.
here starts search in b'lore.....
june 19th..... infosys..... not shortlisted in written exam....... my
friend got selected. i bcame all alone to fight from then.... still had
enough confidence.
july 4th....... wrote TCS test.no result came out.
july 31st......the paymaster SAP labs came on my way.on the second day
after test got call that i cleared test.....then went with psycometric
test,personal interview and technical interview.......din't move to HR.
but learn't many things thru all these rounds.
september 13th..... DELL international GDC..... by meritrac...... 3000
were called for test and shortlisted 2 from each room of 120. finally
there came 30 selected.
september 25th.....HP.....no result to any1 who took the test.
October 4th.....attack TCS for 2nd time.....i was confident that i will
clear the test.
October 11th.......Iflex test......not shortlisted.
......then started my depression, frustration, anger everything......
began going to temples..... and argued with god about my fate....stopped
eating, sleeping......involved in assessing myself..... am i not
capable???????? of getting a job. completely avoided going to walkins
decided to cum back to my native place. went to call center
interviews..... leaving development.
OCTOBER 14th... A ray of hope......a mail from TCS HR..... u cleared the
test and wait for an interview call......i was very excited to c
that.prepared for interview from that day......... revised each of my
subjects twice and HR questins even..... read all the success stories
whatever i find to just boost up my confidence..... kept saying
myself....... one fine day i shud type a mail like this.
DECEMBER 5th....MY BIRTHDAY.......cleared my technical and HR rounds of
TCS. came to know i was into TCS when i was asked to fill up the
EMPLOYEE FORM. got my offer on 20th december.
SO FRIENDS don't loose ur confidence, keep updating ur knowledge.... it
is not intelligence and scores they look at....... but ur communication
and the way u convince people in justifying ur answer. We have come out
with a degree that means we r CAPABLE to do sumthing......if we are at
the right place at the right time in the right manner..........there is
a job straight to u. don't care the words of misleading friends,
relatives... the day u get job the same faces who abuse u will do a free
publicity.
hope my story isn't that boring.......thanks for spending ur valuable
minutes.
