Samtel is the largest integrated manufacturer of picture
tubes in India. It enjoys the largest domestic market
share and exports a significant part of its production

globally renowned for its specialised monochrome CRTs
for avionic and medical applications.
Samtel Technology Lab , the R&D wing of the company,
develops world class technologies and contemporary
products which are manufactured in its plants. STL has
developed the 42? SD Plasma Display Panel (PDP)
technology on its own and development is on for 50? HD.
Samtel has also set up Samtel Centre for Display
Technology jointly with Indian Institute of Technology
Kanpur located on the premises of IIT Kanpur which is
actively developing the Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED)
technology and prototypes , a state of the art
technology for electronic displays, e.g. HUD, HMD, MFD,
etc.
Recently, Samtel has entered into joint ventures between
Samtel Display Systems and Hindusthan Aeronautics Ltd in
India and Thales Avionics , France for development and
manufacture of cockpit display systems for avionics.
Samtel has also diversified in the field of Industrial
automation and special purpose machine.
